If you have some local paper scrap stores, you might give them a look - take your daughter, too! Sometimes they have some good options, just depends on what you are looking for.

<<Hi! Dani B, I am glad I am not the only one. I wonder why can't give instructions for both Photoshop and Corel Paint Shop Pro.>>

Carti & Dani B ... what are you wondering about doing in PSP? If you are talking about printing something at Artscow, no matter what editing program you use (Photoshop, PSP, etc.), you have to save your LO as a high resolution JPG and upload that to the Artscow site.
If you are talking about the accordion albums Lauren and I have showed, you can create your images in any program (or use "plain" photos), print them, and affix them to card stock.

I have done the accordian style books, I was more curious about the photo books. I thought the files for download were only for Photoshop.
I went back and downloaded the template on the first page of this post and had no problem opening them up in PSP so I now know I can use them. Do I use them as is for the Artscow books, or do I treat them the way Lauren suggested with the black border?
All my layouts are in the 200 resolution kits and saved as full 200 resoution 12 x 12 layouts. They print fine as 8x8 size on my printer so would it be the same for 8x8 books?

Your 12x12 pages would print just fine as 8x8 - sizing down in resolution is always fine, trying to make them larger doesn't always work so well.
Creating your LOs with or without the black border as Lauren suggested is really personal preference. The method Lauren suggests helps give some additional assurance that when printed in a book, you don't lose any of the design that you have around the edges. You can achieve the same end results if you are careful about not putting important things near the edge of your page, and having an area that you don't mind if it gets printed or not.

Thank you for the advice everyone has sent, I will be sorting my layouts into folders for each book so I can get them made into books soon. Thought these would make great gifts for my family this Christmas. :santa:

Print sizes: 11x14, 12x12, 12x18
1 prints $3.99
+ $0.99 for each additional print
This is Artscow pricing. Does this mean .99 for a additional print of the same page? As in 3 of the same page...
Or for any additional pages? As in 3 different pages...
Thanks Barry

Has anyone printed cards (not playing cards) at Artcow? I just got mine which were supposed to be my Xmas cards through the mail and they are just 8 * 4 prints on normal Fuji photopaper.
I just want to check if this is a regional thing but I don't think so as I get cards from family and friends all around the world, I know card refers to the weight of the print stock but unless it is a postcard I would also expect it to be folded so you write inside.
What I have received is not on cardstock, just normal photo paper so is quite flimsy exactly as you'd expect a print to be. It has the fuji paper brand on the back and the usual sting of data about the print too so I can't use it as a postcard.
I would just have thought there was a mistake and they'd used my photos against the wrong product type but there were envelopes in the package. The "cards" were in the usual artscow envelope marked as digital photo prints.
Can anyone confirm if they have successfully ordered cards from Artcow ?
Thanks

I have not ordered them from Artscow, although if you ordered the Custom 4" x 8" Photo Cards, that is what I would expect (especially at the price offered). That seems to be the standard in that size (4x8). If you want more of a greeting card style card, that should be specified in the description, something like folded card, printed on card stock. I have seen them at other companies, but not at Artscow.

I have not ordered thru Artscow, but the holiday 'cards' I have ordered through other sites are also printed on photo paper like that.
I'm sorry it wasn't quite what you were hoping it would be. I do think a few companies (shutterfly) might offer cardstock cards, but they are quite pricey compared to the 'photo cards'.
HTH's,
Jessica

Thanks Ladies - lesson learned, I will use the Australian printer I did last year, I shouldn't have gone looking for a bargain it just ended up costing more.
A good lesson though, I will look more closely at the description in future although even knowing this and going back to the site I find it misleading as I could have ordered prints that size for much less.

The 4x8 "cards" do come with envelopes, so I guess that is part of the extra cost. When it comes to Christmas cards, I try to do a test print first for whatever I am doing. But I know it is hard when you are trying to be ahead of the game and be economical for shipping and timing!
