Crystal (GrandmaCrys) Jantzen lives in a small town in Illinois with her husband of 15 years, Sonny, an avid outdoorsman. She has two sons she adores and five grandsons, plus 6 step-grandchildren and 6 step great-grandchildren, who are the inspiration behind her scrapping. She has worked at the same location for 30 years as an Admin. Assistant in a liquid fertilizer manufacturing plant.

In 2003 Crystal bought her first computer and while Sonny, who is retired, was out of town, she was surfing the web when she first came across digital scrapbooking. Expecting her first grandchild in September of that year, she was instantly hooked and began learning the computer and scrapping at the same time. (She had never paper scrapped, but had always done one form of creative hobby or another.)

In 2005 Crystal came across DSP, registered in order to get the Freebies, and has been a loyal member ever since. In early 2007 she stumbled into the Granny Thread, instantly found a *home* and has since made lifetime friendships. She attended the SLC Crop in January 0f 2009 and cemented some of those friendships IRL! YAHOO!

Crystal can be found at her computer almost every free moment. She claims not to cook on weekday nights, getting by on a bowl of Triscuits and a glass of ice water, freeing up as much time as possible for scrapping and chatting. (And thereby balancing her need for chocolate and chips!) She also scraps as often as possible on weekends, when not traveling to see grandchildren.

Crystal’s favorite foods include all sorts of fish her husband catches and some wild game. (No! Raccoons and muskrat are not included!) They especially enjoy vacationing at Sturgeon Bay, WI, where they can both fish and shop to their hearts’ content. All other travel destinations involve either her or his grandchildren. Her favorite restaurants are The Journey (a Chinese buffet on steroids) and bd’s Mongolian Buffet. Her other hobbies are reading and counted cross-stitching (neither of which she currently has time for) and her favorite colors are red and teal, but not necessarily together!!
